Established in 2002, Care Assist Children's Services provides short term respite and long term care for young people with challenging behaviour.
Creating a safe, secure and caring environment, our provision of care is extremely flexible to allow for the needs of the individual. We encourage development of skills to enable them to look after themselves moving towards early adulthood.
Care Assist Children's Services currently run two care homes for children and young people in the Liverpool. With space for multiple occupants, each has his or her own bedroom, plus access to communal areas, kitchen and bathroom. With links to local towns and amenities, enabling the residents to explore the local area and obtain a sense of independence.
Young people in the UK are leaving it longer before they leave home. For young people in care, this essential nurturing is often not available.
The majority of our young people are in their mid-late teens and depending on their legal status may be coming to the end of their time in care. Because we work long term we have significant experience of helping young people move into their own accommodation. This can be a critical time where young people experience high anxiety, isolation and vulnerability. Our tailored outreach packages provide a level of consistent staff support which reduces over time as confidence and coping skills are evidenced.
